I enable the reputation system yesterday and here are some of the features: Members can simply click on the + or - key at the bottom of each members post. Here are the Member Reputation Levels:

Bad -20
Poor -10
Neutral -0
Good +10
Excellent +20

So each click is equal to one plus or minus point. So if a member gets 10 plus points clicked from their fellow members they will get a "Good" reputation as shown when someone views a members profile. We have the ability to modify each of the titles (i.e. 10 points Bueno Amigo,20 points Excelente Amigo etc) and we can add images and change the points needed to reach each level.

I was hoping to play with the system a bit before I made this announcement. However, a few sharp members have picked up that the system is now functioning. As such, we will start the system at ground zero and make modifications as we go along. As always, feel free to throw in your positive ideas and suggestions.

One last thing, I edited the members field so members can not vote for themselves. We all know that if a member could vote for themselves Milkman would move very quickly to give himself 20 quick plus clicks. :fat_face_sad:

OK I'm giving NW a +, even though I think he got banned once way back when, he is a very knowledgeable guy.

That must have been during his "lost weekend" or something.

Hey I can't see the pics of the emoticons, just the symbols. . .

How are you going to keep the members who have multiple nicks from voting for their other nicks?

Anyone who seeks "reputation points" from a bunch of whoremongers is a sad sack of shit, indeed.

hehe it does seem though that rodrigo and luv are now frantically voting up each others ratings now and ganging up to try to knock down ILG... Saw a immediate big swing in +'s for them and -'s for ILG within minutes of their latest posts. It does seem that they do care quite a bit about how they rate, (goes to grab some more popcorn to watch the popularity contest drama). This is like high school again :)

Prob see all kinds of alternate handles showing up just to vote on all sides now...

This reputation system is being manipulated by a few members here, or one in particle. I'm not going to name names, but it has already been posted by a member that they wanted to see how many negative points that Luv2play and Rodrigo( me) get in hopes that the MODs would take notice and ban us in particle.

Now all of a sudden Luv2play has about 50 negative hits, and I about 25 negative hits, and ILG who use to have about 10 negative hits, is now in positive territory.

But something is wrong here if only Luv2play, and me have a bad reputation on this forum. Now I agree with Luv2play about not giving a shit about reputation points, and if I really got these bad ratings, I would in fact wear them like a badge on honor.

But I don't like deceitful, treacherous, and manipulative forum members who somehow think they are going to play with the "Reputation System" and somehow get me, and anybody else they don't like banned! I'm sorry but the "reputation system" isn't part of the site rules, and since when is popularity a reason to keep a member or ban a member? Hell, I should be use to it by now..... it's not the first time other members wanted me banned because they don't like things I wrote.

I know something is wrong with the reputation system if I have all these negative scores, and guys like Hornitos, Powerslave, Mod0007, Explorer, Ben, SP, JD, Belgrath...etc etc have no ratings!

Then we had mongers like Phordphan, and Zambooy having a couple of points positive ratings, and Highway, Blazers, Sgt Perv etc etc with a Neutral rating, and nobody has numbers over 5 in either direction, except for Luv2play, Rodrigo(me) and Ilikegirls who had a 30 point positive swing from yesterday?????

Popularity contests? I think I heard everything now. Let me know when I win Mr Congeniality?

Well Rod,

It must mean people are reading what you write. :) Although I think folks view you as a person that jumps on every tiny thing about race, you do participate with your own insight on muggings, dealing with the police, trip reports and other various topics about Tijuana. I would say that you have value on this site as a monger who shares TJ info.

You do have a following of folks that enjoy arguing with you on various subjects. You bring out a lot of passion on the various threads.

Why can't I start new topics? Is it because 4 whiny rightwingnuts (probably one nut who managed to click the right (correct) button 4 times which would be an accomplishment in and of itself) have given me negative ratings?

I mean, check out this post that received a negative rating:

Are you reading what you posted? Check out the bolded.

Remember when oil was $150/brl and gasoline was...oh nevermind...

The Euro creamed the dollar for almost the entire decade. Were you unhappy then, when Euros, Asians and Canadians were snatching up American companies at fire-sale prices?

The dollar is now positioned well against the Yen and Euro, and when the Chinese eventually allow the yuan to appreciate to its true value, our capital goods and high-techs will drive a strong recovery.

I don't know where wingnut Breitbart is getting his data from, but a couple weeks ago gold settled higher than it did today iirc. Ok, I see, he's just saying it hit that mark during the day, but fell back to settle lower. Misleading headline, but not surprising for Breitbart.

Gold will probably remain strong with China continuing to buy everything in sight. China is now the world's top producer of gold and is second only to India in gold consumption. China will likely pass India in consumption before long. Next time you visit your local package or convenience store, or maybe your local by-the-hour motel, check out how much gold the Indians wear. The Indian couple who own my local package store are always drenched in gold. They love the stuff. Indian and China combined is over 2 billion people. If you just take the richest 10%, that's over 200 million rich mofos who love gold.

Anyway. good day for the market. Next stop: 11,000. I'll settle for 10,500 by year end though. Earning reports are coming in strong. PC shipments are up. Seriously, there is so much good news it just makes me so fucking happy.. :happy_dancing:

Is this a trollish, flaming, low-content post deserving of a negative rating? I don't know how you go about seeing who gave the negative rating and I didn't bother to track down the other 3 negative ratings I received. It doesn't matter all that much to me, but I wold like to retain the ability to start new topics.

And I'm not going to retaliate and run around this forum handing out negatives to the rightwing droolers. I have a lot more self-respect than that. I am able to argue my points without resorting to childish tactics. I realize that righties fail in this regard. Standard rightwing wimpy tactics: if you can't get your way, bomb them from the sky, from a carrier, or better yet, avoid service altogether and send other folks to fight your illegal wars. DO NOT, under any circumstance, engage your opponent face to face, hand to hand, word to word. Cowards.

I'll recheck your permissions, amsterjuana. There is no reason you shouldn't be able to start a new topic unless something is out-of-whack with your particular account. The rep system has nothing to do with your ability to post, nor does staff use it to determine who stays or goes on the board.
